There was once a woman named Terra. She was a dedicated mother, who provided her children with everything they would ever need: food, shelter, medicine…
But as all children do, they rebelled—violently. They hacked off her gorgeous hair, left gashes in her beautiful skin, and covered her in rancid trash…
And still, she loved and provided for them.
Then one day, they found their drug.
It was black, sludgy, sticky, poisonous, yet they treasured it. Becoming addicted, they breathed it, burned it, adored it. They'd pay any cost, whether it be loss of life, harming themselves, or slowly killing their mother.
Over the years, Terra became feverish from exposure to the drugs, she could no longer provide as well for her children as they fought over the addictive substance amongst themselves.
One of her children apparently became worried about her health.
"Mother? Are you okay?"
"Yes," came the pained reply, "I am well."
But the worried child, after some extensive examination, came to the conclusion that she was not well, she was singing a drawn out death song.
Her child said it would help, and it really tried. It used less of the drug, tried to convince the others to stop, but her child was still addicted.
Sadly, she watched through dimming eyes as her children destroyed themselves through the addiction.
What foolish, foolish children, only one was wise enough to realize its wrongs, but it was already too late. What the rest didn't realize was that after Terra had died, they would soon follow with no one left to provide for them.
Terra is also known as Earth, her children known as humans, and the drug, known as oil.
The Addiction ended it all.

Never Enough
Big brother looks so broken, all covered in tubes and needles. I want to rip them out of his wrists and take him home. I want him to play with me and laugh like he used to.
My little brother stands in the doorway of my hospital room. I hate to see him cry. He looks so alone.
He blinks through his tears and looks at me mournfully, "Mum and Dad say there's a way for me to help you."
I feel a rush of adrenalin and look away from him, watching my heart r

Dear Me
Dear Little Rachel,
Yes, darling, you. You standing in the queue to get out of the airport, wrapped up as though it was minus 20 degrees Celsius outside when it was just 16 degrees. You there, aged eleven years old, your skin used to humidity and now cracking up like aging plaster in the blast of dry August air.
I know who you are. You brought me to life by your dreams, your bitter recollections of better days as you tried to defog the future, only to realise it was as misty as ever. I am who you are then, and you are who I am now. Call me a time traveller, talking to you and breaking a hundred physical laws but trust me, I'm just here to g

To Live Is To Learn.
It's only at the end of the road
after many wrong turns taken,
that I'll realize
which ones I should've taken instead.
But there is no walking in reverse,
no magic spell to turn the red lights green.
Yet each time life tears me down,
I learn how to get back on my feet.
And I know now, that I am my worst threat,
yet my best friend.
And best friends forgive, understand,
offer a helpful hand.
I have to try, try so much harder,
to help myself to a clearer view.
And one day,
when I become something I can love,
someone else will fall in love with me too.

Positively addicted to oil, that's the world today.
Had a spark of an idea, quickly wrote it down... The single worried child representes the few humans who do care about Terra, Mother Earth.
Enjoy, comment to tell me how much you think it needs change, or even if you just love it!

"I like to enjoy things without the use of technology." I turn around and point out a beautiful landscape and she looks disgusted and reply's,
"Its just trees and bushes and sky nothing too exciting about it!"
I may be apart of this generation, but this generation is a bunch of idiots.
